Be a part of shaping the next generation by engaging kids with the Gospel to help them build their faith. Work directly with children through Bible stories, songs and group activities or work behind the scenes to provide the best experience possible for kids and parents.
At Destiny Yuma, we offer 4 different classrooms: Nursery (Infants-Walking), Toddlers (Walking-3/4yrs), Elementary 1 (Pre-K-2nd), and Elementary 2 (3rd – 5th). These classrooms are led by trained volunteers who love the Lord, love our church, and love our kids! We offer a safe environment for our children to learn about the Gospel and develop a relationship with Jesus. It is our goal to have an interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson, where your child will have the opportunity to learn about God and grow in their faith.
Welcome to Destiny Yuma Kids Church! If it is your first time visiting, you will be greeted by our friendly volunteers at the entrance who will guide you to our kid’s church check-in area. They will introduce themselves, ask for your child’s name and age, and provide you with information about the program.
Check-in process: Our check-in process is fast and easy! All you need is your child’s first and last name, birth date, and your phone number. When you enter that information, you will then receive a sticker with your child’s name and a unique pick-up code. You will also receive another sicker for yourself with that same code, so we know who your child is, and security knows you are a parent for drop-offs and pickups. If you have multiple children, they will all have the same code on their name tags.
Safe and secure environment: Destiny takes the safety and security of your child very seriously. The kid’s church area is staffed by trained volunteers who undergo background checks. Additionally, the area is secured and monitored to ensure the safety of all children. We will always have someone posted for security and we have an open-door policy to ensure the safety of your child.
Classrooms:
Nursing Mother’s Room: Our mother’s room is a room open to mothers to nurse or sit with their babies during service. We have a TV set up in that room so you can still enjoy the service and listen to the sermon.
Nursery: The nursery is for babies from 2 months (with 2-month vaccines) to walking age (after which, they transfer to our Toddler Room). If your child is in Nursery, they will be taken care of by our wonderful volunteers who will play with them, pray for them, or snuggle with them during nap time. If your child needs a diaper change, our volunteer will connect with you via text (set up during Check-In), so you can provide a diaper change. Feel free to let us know if you would like your child to be fed while you enjoy service.
Toddlers: Toddler is for our walking kids (around 1 year) up to the age of 3. If your child is in Toddler, they will be taught by our awesome volunteers. They will get to play with new friends, sing songs, learn a mini Bible lesson, use their fine motor skills to color or create a fun craft, and enjoy a snack!
Preschool:
The preschool classroom is for children aged 3-5 years who have not yet started kindergarten. Your Preschooler will enjoy age-appropriate lessons, fun worship activities, play with friends and enjoy a small snack. Our volunteers and teachers are ready for dancing, playing, and instructing all the little ones.
NOTE TO PARENTS: The classroom’s availability will be based on current necessity and may vary from weekend to weekend. In the event that the preschool classroom is not open, preschoolers will get to join with either our Toddler classroom or Elementary 1 depending on their age!
Elementary K-5th: Here all kids from kindergarten to fifth-grade worship, learn a fun bible lesson, eat a snack, and do a fun craft every weekend. All of our elementary grades join the adults in the Sanctuary for worship. K-2nd and 3rd – 5th are in two separate classrooms to ensure each child is seen and heard.
After service, you will pick up your child from their classroom. Make sure you have your security sticker to walk back to the classroom and pick up your child(ren)! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to talk to our volunteer staff.
Our goal at Destiny is to make sure you and your child have the best experience. We want to let you enjoy service while knowing your child is safe and having fun learning about God. Our Kid’s Church is open for our regular services every Saturday and Sunday.

Next, you will check your child in by completing a required form that consists of your contact information, your child’s name, and age, and any allergies or specific needs they may have. You will then receive a name tag for your child and a security tag for yourself, which you will need to present when picking up your child after the service. You will be guided to drop your child off at their designated classroom.
Nursery (2 months – 2 years): If your child is in Nursery, they will be taken care of by our wonderful volunteers who will play with them, pray for them, watch cartoons with them or snuggle with them during nap time. If you child needs a diaper change, our volunteer will connect with you via text, so you can provide a diaper change. Feel free to let us know if you would like your child to be fed while you enjoy service.
Toddlers (2 – 5 years): If your child is in Toddlers, they will be taught by our awesome volunteers. They will get to play with new friends, sing songs, learn a mini Bible lesson, use their fine motor skills to create a fun craft, and enjoy a snack!
Elementary (6 – 10 years): If your child is in Elementary, they will be able to spend some time with our super cool teachers! They will get to play games, make new friends, spend time in worship, learn about the Vision of our church: to win souls and make disciples, understand the importance of giving and study Bible stories.
After service, you will pick up your child from their classroom. The volunteers will give you an update on the fun things your child was able to engage in and learn about! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to talk to our volunteer staff.
We want you to have the best experience, enjoy service and feel assured that your child is being taken care of. That is why our kid’s area is monitored and secured to ensure the safety of all our children and provide the necessary comfort to you and your family.
